PAUL BLART!!

PAUL BLART: MALL COP (B-)

The only way I was going to see Paul Blart: Mall Cop in theaters is if the showing was free. And I saw it in theaters...(don't tell the Po-poz...or my mom!) The film was definitely a lot more than I thought it was going to be. Not expecting much from a film doesn't really make it hard to get something positive out of it, and this is one of those films. I really enjoyed Mall Cop throughout its entirety, even though it was over the top humor, which is something that I do not usually enjoy. Kevin James was very funny as a mall security cop who seems to be stuck in his normal life. He has been patrolling the mall as a stepping stone to become a state trooper, but can never seem to get to that next level. The plot gets more interesting as the mall is taken over by hostiles with a plan to steal millions of dollars. Left to defend the mall and his honor, is our hero Kevin James AKA Paul Blart.

The target audience for this film is definitely children, but that doesn't mean adults can't enjoy it as well. I usually don't even like the silly child humor that is in this film, but I laughed quite a bit. So that's saying something. Decent script to make the film more than just funny, so Mall Cop was interesting as well. The characters are all well done and interesting, giving the story a little substance. Kevin James is worth the price of admission, and is the whole reason the film is number ONE at the box office its opening weekend. If you are looking for a light humor film, or just a flick to enjoy, go see Paul Blart: Mall Cop.
