With the injury to Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie last week against the Packers, a spot on the NFC Pro Bowl roster opened up. Filling that spot is the talent of Antoine Winfield, the Vikings star Cornerback. This year is the second straight Pro Bowl appearance for Winfield, and this years inclusion on the roster is even more impressive than last years. Winfield missed 6 games during the season due to a foot injury.

His return against the Bengals seemed like he had not missed a step, but each week after seemed less and less like the old Winfield (see Week 15 vs. Carolina). Week 17 against the Giants and the Vikings Divisional victory over the Cowboys he saw limited playing time, but his presence was still felt. Against the Cowboys it almost seemed like his heat seeking missle like tackling rubbed off on his fellow members of the secondary. Despite Winfield's injury plagued season he still amassed 55 tackles (53 of them solo!), 1 forced fumble, 1 interception, and 1 sack. Pretty impressive numbers for the eleven year veteran. Congratulations on your second Pro Bowl Antoine.

Little known fact: Did you know Antoine Winfield has a half-brother on the Vikings current roster? It's true. Vikings Fullback Naufahu Tahi and Winfield share the same mother.
