JUST AROUND THE BEND

Up with this batch of trailers we have two comedies featuring star studded casts. First up, we have the second trailer of Dinner for Schmucks which headlines Steve Carell and Paul Rudd. The movie is a remake of the 1998 French black comedy The Dinner Game. It is lead by the successful comedic director Jay Roach who has brought audiences Meet the Parents/Meet the Fockers, the Austin Powers trilogy, and Mystery, Alaska.

The movie surrounds a group of successful executives trying to find zany dinner guests to supply entertainment for their boss's monthly dinner parties coined "dinner for idiots." Rudd appears to hit a home run when he brings Carell to the dinner which offers advantages to the executive who brings the biggest "idiot." The movie looks to have enough comedic juggernauts in place to make this movie a hit. See it for yourself this summer when it appears in theaters July 23rd, 2010.

This trailer is the first for the movie based off Jonathan Swift's classic literary novel with a long title, but simply known as Gulliver's Travels. The film stars funnyman Jack Black as Gulliver who gets shipwrecked in a storm and then wakes up in a world of little people. The trailer below pretty much sets up the first act of the movie.

Gulliver's Travels also stars Jason Segel, Amanda Peet, and the absolutely stunning Emily Blunt. Blunt was contractually bound to star in this film because of the deal she signed with Fox to join the cast of The Devil Wears Prada. Blunt was slated to play Scarlett Johansson's role of Black Widow in Iron Man 2, but could not because of her obligation to have a role in Gulliver's Travels. This movie looks promising, and hits theaters December 22nd, 2010.
