TWO TEASERS

This edition of the Trailer Trash Mash showcases two movies that both contain computer generated animations and feature comedy, but approach the genre in two very different ways. The two teaser trailers I am referring to are The Goon and Yogi Bear. While one is very much targeted at kids, the other looks to appeal to kids but upon closer inspection contains adult content to the extreme.

First up we have the favorite picnic basket stealing bear from many of our childhoods. Of course I am talking about Yogi Bear and his food stealing antics at Jellystone park. Warner Brothers is the studio behind the project that stars Dan Aykroyd as Yogi and Justin Timberlake as Boo Boo. Yeah, you heard me right, I said Justin Timberlake. While watching the preview, I did not think it was him for one second. The film also stars Anna Farris, Tom Cavanagh, and the always funny T.J. Miller. Yogi Bear is set to hit theaters, in 3D (!!!) of course, December 17th, 2010.

Second up we have a teaser trailer that is unique it in its own rights. It is a project called The Goon which is based off a dark comic book series with the same title. The series was created by Eric Powell who also penned the script for this movie. The film is being produced by one of my favorite directors David Fincher, and has Paul Giamatti voicing the character Franky and Clancy Brown giving life to the character The Goon.

A release date and a plot still have not been announced about the project, but movie posters announce a theatrical release. This footage was created by Blur Studios to showcase the project. This teaser is meant to promote The Goon to get snatched up by a big studio so they can foot the bill to finance the rest of production. So this project is still far away from completion, but as you can tell from what you can see below, The Goon will definitely be bankrolled by someone. Check out the teaser, and keep up to date with The Goon news on the official site.
